Hike 57: Adeje / Boca del Paso
The entrance behind the car park was blocked with the notice "Access for authorised personnel only". There is a trail exists. Access is not recommended.
This hike leads from Adeje above the Barranco del Infierno on the high trail to the Boca del Paso.
After only a few metres in altitude there are already extensive views of the mountain range with the Conde, the east coast and Adeje. There are a few places on Montana Carrasco where a head for heights is required. However there are no exposed places. The entire ascent is about 5 km long and a rather narrow Camino. From Montana Carrasco the path widens out again becomes wider and leads to a small plateau. Here the path leads over to the left to another basin. After a short distance the vegetation becomes more lush. Lush greenery, flowering plants and tree cover can be found at an altitude of over 1000 metres.
Now the trail goes up and down for 5 km amidst forest and mountain slopes until it reaches a high trail that leads to Boca del Paso after 1.2 km. Here you can again enjoy fantastic views. From the viewpoint, the path leads 4 km back to Adeje. This path is a little steeper but wider than the ascent path and better suited for the descent. On the way, you can look into the Barranco del Infierno on the left. The mountain path ends right at the entrance to the barranco. From here there are another 500 metres downhill through Adeje. On the way, you will pass various restaurants on the main road where you can reward yourself for the efforts of the day.
A detailed description of the route and the GPS track can be found in the Hiking Guide Tenerife.
