Hike 22: Los Organos Alternative

Actually there is a big hike to Los Organos from La Caldera (Tour 34). However, this is closed in some parts. That's why we hiked this small loop in September 2015. Everyone who wants to experience a walk in the midst of unspoilt nature should plan this small but nice tour. We parked at the hikers' car park in Aguamansa, which is free until 14:00.

 

If you come early, the organ pipes will not be shrouded in clouds either, because clouds often gather in this area during the midday hours. In the first part of the hike, after a short walk, we reach a park-like forest. Due to the high humidity of the clouds, ferns and all kinds of plants grow here. The animal world has also found an oasis here. The woodpeckers are hammering on the trees, it's a joy. There is a chirping far and wide.

 

About halfway through the walk, we come to Los Organos. Mighty rock formations in the shape of organ pipes tower above the valley. The path ends suddenly on the southern flank in front of a barrier, marking the end of a restricted area. However, we did not see any barriers or path obstructions on the way up to here. Only on paths branching off to the sides were there 2 closures. The closure can be easily bypassed by taking a few steps in the forest. A short way back to the car park follows.
