Hike 51: Montana Samara
This easy hike can be used as an introductory tour to the Canadas or to get used to the altitude of 2000 metres. We park the car at the mirador of the TF-38 just before km 8. After a few metres, we take the path to the right and hike on volcanic sand towards Montana de la Botija.
With Teide and Pico Viejo in view, we circle Montana de la Botija and head towards Montana Samara. Passing Canary Island pines, we reach the ascent path. The ascent is quite easy and after a short stop we go downhill again to the circular path. After a few metres we find ourselves at the starting point.
